Dear donors,

i'm searching for an option to get FMT capsules that are shipped to Germany to fight my SIBO.

I would appreciate any hint.

Best regards
Siboman

I don't recall any commercial source offering freeze-dried capsules. Yes, it's easier to ship, but it may be less effective. And based on what I know about the equipment, it would be costly to arrange for high-quality donors. So if it becomes available it will likely not be from a good donor.

Hey Siboman,

You could ask the Centre for Digestive Diseases in Sydney whether they'll take an overseas patient. They shipped lyophilized FMT capsules to me in another state in Australia a couple of weeks ago. (Or, more specifically, I consulted their gastroenterologist on Skype and then arranged the frozen freight myself.) You can see the preparation method in a decent amount of detail in their peer-reviewed publications. And the results for me were amazing. (I had been diagnosed with SIBO. I'm going to write more about it on another thread in a moment.)

The Therapeutic Goods Association has approved their product here (though it only became available in mid-2024): https://www.tga.gov.au/resources/prescription-medicines-registrations/faecal-microbiota-transplant-fmt-centre-digestive-diseases-pty-ltd

Edit: Obviously I can't give medical advice. And I think that in Australia one is not supposed to promote prescription medicines to the general public. But I'm just telling you what my experience was, as an anecdote.

Dear @Anon24, thank you very much. I'll send you a private message.

Edit: It seems i can't send you a private message. May you change that or send me a message so i could reply?

Taking things private disallows others to benefit from the information and participate in discussion, which is the whole point of a public forum. If you think there is no on-topic section of the forum for the specific discussion, you can use profile posts (or suggest a new subforum).

Yes. There are plenty of things which I would not discuss in the hearing of the entire internet but would discuss 1-1 with an anonymous individual, if the moderator allows me to post this (in the context of the forum rules that discourage PMs).

Edit: We are talking here about topics that for most people are super sensitive, obviously.

Surprised you had good results from a donor from this clinic - from what I can tell their criteria for donors is not very stringent. They also dump you full of antibiotics prior to their implants.

As much as i agree that sibo is basically dysbiosis its still overgrowth… Do you follow Mark’s Pimentel research? Network of normal duodenal bacteria is completely destroyed and therefore other bacteria prolifirate.
You're welcome to present your evidence and arguments here: https://forum.humanmicrobiome.info/threads/is-sibo-real-sibo-vs-dysbiosis-debunking-the-sibo-hypothesis-small-int.690

I wouldn't bother following someone who's been so wrong for so long.
