Hi, I have done FMT in a private clinic in Europe 5 years ago, but I am not satisfied with the results. Now I see there is SMT (selective microbiota transplantation) offered in China. If there is someone from China to help me with that, I would be thankful. Kind regards

Gmail is blocked in China so it’ll be difficult to contact them. Try contacting Faming Zhang via Hotmail or yahoo mail, although they might use vpn to get access to gmail. He is the main GI doc at Nanjing hospital that does the most FMT research. There is also Shanghai Tongji hospital but I’m not sure who you would contact there.

Yes i will try to contact them directly, thanks. It is a shame regulatioms do not allow importing SMT FMT here in Europe

I'd be curious to see what the selected microbes are that they are transplanting in preference to others.

Searching for the quoted phrase "selective microbiota transplantation" doesn't return many results, mostly just papers that mention the term but don't cite other research that explains more clearly. The most I can find is a section of this: https://academic.oup.com/proteincell/article/9/5/462/6760119, which mentions transplants into other body systems than the GI tract. So that makes it look as though it's "selective" in that transplants into, e.g. the respiratory tract or vagina don't come from the donor's GI tract, which obviously makes sense, but that still doesn't clarify how gut SMT differs from actual FMT.
