Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share my story and track my FMT (fecal transplant) journey here. I’ve been struggling for years and finally decided to try something that feels like my last real option. Hopefully it helps someone else too.

My Background:

I’m 34M. I used to be healthy in my teens, nothing crazy. But since around 2020 things went downhill fast. It started after a round of antibiotics (for a dental issue), and from there my gut health collapsed. I developed:

  • Chronic hives / urticaria (daily, for years)
  • Severe food intolerances – can only tolerate 2 vegetables now
  • IBS – I get a lot of gas and bad stool if I eat the wrong food and hemorroids
  • Hemorrhoids - Crazy itching in the butt-area
  • Candida + Klebsiella overgrowth (confirmed)
  • Insulin resistance / borderline prediabetes
  • Lymphatic swelling – my face and legs puff up after carbs
  • +23 kg weight gain since 2020
I’ve tried everything: carnivore, low FODMAP, clean elimination diets, antimicrobials, tons of supplements. I can be strict for 60–90 days max, but I’ve never healed – and I always crash back. My life is locked around this super restrictive diet that’s not sustainable.

My Donor:

My wife. 34F. She’s always had excellent health, slim naturally, struggles to gain weight even after pregnancy. No major gut issues, eats everything, minimal cravings, great blood sugar stability.

She has had antibiotics in her past, so not a perfect donor – but she’s way healthier than me.

First FMT Round:

I’m doing it manually with capsules (size 0) and took them directly after her bowel movement (~15 mins). Here’s my current plan:

  • Day 1: 8 capsules
  • Day 2 (today): 6 capsules
  • Day 3 (tomorrow): 5 capsules
  • Then I’ll pause and do another round this weekend if all goes well.

Symptoms So Far:

  • First night: itchy butt (classic histamine), bubbly stomach, hives flared up.
  • Slept badly – took 1 extra antihistamine in the morning.
  • Second dose went down fine.
  • Right now: calm, a bit more energy than usual this morning, but still monitoring closely.
Why I’m Doing This:

I literally feel like this is the only way forward. I’ve hit a wall. If I can even start tolerating more than 2 vegetables again and get off constant antihistamines, it will be a huge win.

I’ll update this thread with all the highs and lows as I go – dosage, symptoms, reactions, diet, everything.

If anyone has done FMT for similar issues (especially candida, klebsiella, histamine or extreme intolerances), I’d love to hear your experience.

Thanks for reading
