I think it's a bad idea to post preprints for the following reasons:
Pending potential objections, I plan to add a "no preprints" rule. One exception may be if it's been over a year since the preprint was released, and the study has still not been published in a journal.
- There is more coverage and discussion when they're published. So it's better to just wait till then.
- They sometimes change the title when it's published, and searching titles is generally how we find previous discussions/submissions.
- Preventing duplicate submissions & discussions is easier if we wait till it's published.
