Sharing My Autoimmune Recovery Journey + Solutions for your Gut Health (GAIP diet)

I've essentially already tried GAIP. I tolerate flax and chia seeds very poorly. It seems plausible that this diet can help clear problematic components for some people. I read his "How not to die" book and liked it. I'm generally a fan of his, but his info on FMT is quite poor and contains...

That's extremely lucky. But your personal experience does not translate to everyone else. I have eaten plant-based diets, 100% raw vegan, 100% raw paleo, etc. If they're not present you can't feed them. Missing Microbes with Dr Martin Blaser (American Society for Microbiology, 2016)...

Sharing My Autoimmune Recovery Journey + Solutions for your Gut Health (GAIP diet)

This doesn't appear to make sense. Your cure was a temporary elimination diet? Then when you added back the foods without doing anything else, you could tolerate them fine? I also eat based on an elimination diet. It's not a solution, it's a method to prevent the worst symptoms. It doesn't fix...

Blog The FDA and FMT regulation, part 2. (Jul 2024, HumanMicrobes.org) I met with the FDA. Here's what I shared with them, and their response.

I actually contacted Daisy Robinton when she was associated with Harvard. This was a decade ago I think, when I was contacting individuals to ask them to be a stool donor for me. She responded and initially seemed willing but then chickened out. I contacted her more recently after she moved to...

This should not be relevant. Patients should be able to advocate for treatment access without having credentials/institutional affiliations. Especially when a ton of scientific evidence is presented. Additionally, there are major deficiencies with "credendials" and "institutions" [1][2][3]. The...

I did say that to Senator Cassidy's office. I believe it's true too, which is one of the many reasons it seems bizarre that these politicians aren't jumping at the chance to champion this. Marco Rubio is focused on trying to become Secretary of State, but it wouldn't hurt to follow up with his...

It's not part of the standard screening criteria. https://humanmicrobiome.info/fmt/#screening I don't see how. I think you're right. Their table is very hard to read on small screens (mine currently). It does appear that all reports for herpes are under "placebo". I'll change the thread title.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2590097820300252 You can search the page for "herpes". It's in Section 5, Short-term and long-term safety of FMT in IBD. It apparently occurred in multiple studies. It's listed under "placebo". NSAE = Non-serious adverse events.

Yes, but it's much more than that. There's also the mucus layer and the immune system. There are many components of the gut microbiome that hinder colonization. No such thing. The closest thing is "germ-free mice". Antibiotics have not worked for this purpose in humans...

Procedure Is there any chance double layered crapsules don't open at all and pass through whole?

It depends on what exact capsules are used. With Human Microbes, we use vegan delayed-release capsules. Gelatin capsules are also common and occasionally used. You can do tests yourself by placing them in various liquids. They expand, soften, and break down within 1 hour usually. No acids or...

I don't recall seeing any study using helminths to destroy the mucosa. I doubt they would "destroy it", but perhaps they could contribute to replacing it. I haven't tried them myself since they seem to be far less studied & promising than FMT. I'm certainly open to the possibility. I don't doubt...

Not necessarily. Breastfeeding is not the only, nor a complete, method of transfer from mother to child, and the mother would need to have the strains herself. Plausibly. But it's highly speculative. Those are genera and species, not strains.

I wouldn't be so sure. Studies have shown both benefits and detriments from aFMT. If it's correct that the dark type 3 stools he wants to ingest are "good" and have a higher percentage of "desirable" microbes, aFMT with those stools could help increase the number of those microbes along the...

Procedure Re crapsules, what are the optimal conditions to consume them?

This is covered here: https://www.humanmicrobes.org/ordering-faq https://humanmicrobiome.info/fmt/ Much of it is experimental. In my experience, a huge dose like that is much less effective than small doses spread out for a long period. I think it has to do with colonization resistance.

Autologous Autologous type-3 FMT (dark brown), Floraphage

That's not a health symptom, so I'd ignore it. You can experiment to see if you notice any health symptoms associated with those stool changes. If you don't notice any then it's most likely not worth worrying about. It's probably more accurate to see it as missing microbes (a deficiency)...

I've had mothers apply for their 1-2 year old babies, and many of them have solid stools. I think these 1-2-year-olds could be stool donors for anyone, including newborns.
