I was doing fairly well until I thought I could drink cream with coffee again. But, no. Gave me the runs,

Were you lactose intolerant before getting ill? If not you should be able to rebuild your tolerance. I am and have been lactose intolerant and I have found kefir to be tolerable even for me as long as I take enzymes. It might be a good place to start. Hard aged cheeses as well. Cream was always the worst for me. I'm sure you can look up the lactose content for almost any dairy product and slowly increase the amount you ingest. Along with the helpful information from Michael you could possibly get your own enzymes working again.

No, I used to be fine with 1/2 & 1/2 and all milk products. So, I guess after the c-diff things really changed. Thanks so much for your suggestions.

The c diff changed a lot for me too. It took me a year to add back cooked onions (among other things) ...then I got norovirus for 6 weeks (2 in the hospital) and now I'm starting over again. I just started FMTs again and I'll be starting over adding problem foods back slowly again. One bite rather than a whole serving kind of thing. I don't want to have to avoid foods forever, but unfortunately I haven't found a quick way to deal with it. Good luck! Take it slowly and carefully but steadily. I hope you will be able to enjoy everything again!
