Seems like this strain was recently introduced into the market. A forum search pulls up an article regarding sorbitol intolerance, but the article does not provide the strain. Though, in the article the species itself was said to assist in helping to restore Clostridia abundance, and similar benefits appear to be argued for this particular strain as far as animal testing is concerned. My order won't arrive until next week, so I can't speak on it much myself; a shame I didn't come across this probiotic sooner.

The species itself is said to be able to produce butyrate from multiple sources: dietary and cross-feeding of other SCFAs (i.e. lactate and acetate). To me, this seems to be far more useful as a probiotic than the Anaerobutyricum spp. that I was looking at. If the recommended dosage sits well with me, I plan on working my way up to higher doses. My microbiome produces significant levels of lactate (and very low levels of every other SCFA), so some level of cross-feeding may occur.
