Other Duplicating FMT, stool donor, and microbiome projects vs solving existing barriers

Apologies if this has been brought up before, but I'm wondering where the boundary is here? (1a) You go direct to someone to collect their stool and do FMT (1b) You have someone ship their stool to you and do FMT. (2a) You go direct to someone to collect their stool and do FMT, then you pay...

Modulate the microbiome with raw human/cow milk as alternative to FMT?

I did a couple small-scale attempts at raw milk and thought I'd give a brief overview. Conditions: depression, dust mite allergies, consistent Type 5 - 6 stools. The working theory I'm using is attempting to acquire hypothesized missing microbes. So, I figure I need raw milk from a lineage of...

Modulate the microbiome with raw human/cow milk as alternative to FMT?

Which brand/source did you use? My worry is that most of the cattle population may have the exact same dysbiosis as humans due to widespread usage of antibiotics in factory farming. So cows born from that lineage may not have great health or microbiome Do you still have links to these reports...

Donors Amish as stool donors for FMT

Starting this as a central thread to discuss establishing connections to the Amish to use them as donors for those based in the US. Traveling directly to them to receive FMT seems like a decent next best option to me in light of the FDA's shutdown of human microbes. The previous discussion left...

Blog The FDA and FMT regulation, part 2. (Jul 2024, HumanMicrobes.org) I met with the FDA. Here's what I shared with them, and their response.

Grouping my reply to the other thread here since it's a similar topic I'll draft an email over the next couple of days and forward you a copy to review before I send it. That's unfortunate. Once I finish the first email I'll see if I can build off of it into something useful here as well...

Scott Alexander is someone I think it would be worth reaching out to. His substack (Astral Codex Ten, formerly Slate Star Codex) is read by many smart, wealthy, and well-connected people in Silicon Valley. There is also the whole "effective altruism" philanthropic crowd he is associated with who...

Donors Where to get a stool donor for FMT or how to find one?

What happened? Is it shut down because of the FDA?

Video The false promises of Bryan Johnson and Functional Medicine | The Bryan Johnson "Hit Piece". Surprising revelations in the New York Times put Johnson's integrity into question | Scott Carney

In another thread, the idea was floated of Bryan Johnson being a stool donor. This seems backwards to me. He seems more likely to be a recipient. Given his obsession with anti-aging and his financial resources, have you thought about reaching out to him to help you find super donors? If a super...
