Diet Gluten sensitivity linked to gut–brain interaction, not gluten itself (Oct 2025, review) Non-coeliac gluten sensitivity

Interesting study. Anecdotal but I'm dealing with an issue right now where I tried to introduce more carbs to my diet and am now having some serious gut issues. I was tested for celiac disease about a year ago and was negative. Hope you're doing good Michael and thanks for always posting new...

Donors Does stool donor sex and age matter? Are there differences in receiving fecal transplants (FMT) from male vs. female donors? And different age groups and enterotypes? Donor matching

I don't have a super strong opinion on whether or not it matters if you get FMT from a man or woman, just thought I'd mention that there's anecdotal stuff out there and that if I were looking for a personal donor I'd probably factor it in. In theory, the gut biome does modulate hormones, so its...

Donors Does stool donor sex and age matter? Are there differences in receiving fecal transplants (FMT) from male vs. female donors? And different age groups and enterotypes? Donor matching

Yeah there's a few studies but this (anecdotal) first hand account is interesting. I'd still get a FMT from a woman if she met all other criteria. I just noticed that the author of this post is going by a male name and mentioned he was considering a female donor (no judgement here!) and I...

Donors Does stool donor sex and age matter? Are there differences in receiving fecal transplants (FMT) from male vs. female donors? And different age groups and enterotypes? Donor matching

I'd also add the potential for hormonal disturbance that can happen when transplanting from female to male or male to female. I know there's conflicting research on this but in my own hunt for FMT transplant donors, this is something I would seriously consider as a potential variable of concern.

Enhancing fmt reduced to less than 1% as effective as it used to be after i started taking high amounts of inulin daily years ago (reason likely being severely damaging my gut mucus layer)

I had a roommate once for a year or so who was bipolar and had manic episodes. Obviously this is just anecdotal, but it wasn't until he started working out with me and drinking constant high fiber smoothies did he start to become manic. For some reason it always stuck out to me that when he...

Enhancing fmt reduced to less than 1% as effective as it used to be after i started taking high amounts of inulin daily years ago (reason likely being severely damaging my gut mucus layer)

This is an interesting thread so thought I'd add my experience with inulin. I started taking it as a component of some nut bars I was eating and at first it worked GREAT, my stools totally regulated for a couple weeks, but then they went right back to loose and unpredictable so I stopped. I...

Severe Microbiome Dysbiosis – Seeking Feedback and Practitioner/Research Referral

I've tried akkermansia a few times, and one of those times I got the mixture where they also have Clostridium butyricum (and others), and that one I felt like actually helped pretty quickly. I want to say it was "glucose control." My experience with the akkermansia alone actually seemed at first...

Severe Microbiome Dysbiosis – Seeking Feedback and Practitioner/Research Referral

There's a company that makes akkermansia now if you're looking to supplement that. I drink a TON of kefir, like, a TON, and that's helped me a lot. I believe the company that makes akkermansia also makes a few other SCFA bacteria strains in supplement form. I've had mixed results with them, but...

Article Trump admin links Tylenol/acetaminophen use in pregnancy to increased risk of autism despite mixed studies (Sep 2025)

In Utero Exposure to Caffeine and Acetaminophen, the Gut Microbiome, and Neurodevelopmental Outcomes: A Prospective Birth Cohort Study Pregnant individuals are exposed to acetaminophen and caffeine, but it is unknown how these exposures interact with the developing gut microbiome. We aimed to...

Other Non-antibiotic medications leave lasting mark on gut microbiome, even years after use (Sep 2025) A hidden confounder for microbiome studies: medications used years before sample collection

I've wondered about this for a long time since my rescue meds for epilepsy are heavy benzos and I've noticed my gut seems better the day after I take them. That's not to suggest they're good long term or a real solution, but I suspected maybe they were doing something along these lines. More...

Healthcare system Incoming trump admin with RFK signals new start for FDA

Why does everyone on here hate RFK Jr.? While I'm pissed they haven't addressed FMT yet, I'm glad they're finally bringing a lot of medical corruption into the mainstream for everyone to see. Consider that the vast majority of the US now understands just how corrupt big pharma actually is, and...

Article Priorities for a New FDA | Martin Makary, Vinay Prasad (Jun 2025)

I think we're using different language to approximate the same meaning. They shouldn't be using bad donors and bad samples. Who is the person running the bad bank right now? edit: shouldn't

Article Priorities for a New FDA | Martin Makary, Vinay Prasad (Jun 2025)

As I've mentioned in other comments, if they open them up they have to be regulated, didn't mean to mislead with my comment by leaving that out. Edit: Really looking forward to your FMT videos! I've done some on Rumble about epilepsy and the one I did on why the Amish have higher rates of...

Article Priorities for a New FDA | Martin Makary, Vinay Prasad (Jun 2025)

I think the problem here is that all the possible ways of making this popular or well known are gatekept by institutions that have money invested in big pharma (mutual funds and stuff), and so would suffer financially from cures coming out. Everyone knows how crony capitalism works and then acts...

Blog The FDA and FMT regulation, part 2. (Jul 2024, HumanMicrobes.org) I met with the FDA. Here's what I shared with them, and their response.

Again, this isn't relevant to this thread and I don't mean to sound rude, but the shots were ineffective and unsafe. Corporate media, corrupt govt, and big pharma were not trustworthy. That being said, I'm also very upset that nobody in the current administration isn't bringing up FMT at all. It...
