So, I know this automatically makes me a contributor to climate change and all things bad, etc. But my partner wants to have a baby.
She is not a woman with eubiosis, but she is not horribly unhealthy either. Only major issue is asthma. And has used antibiotics 4 times in her life. Never had surgery ever until wisdom tooth removal.
Problem is me. I have used 5 antibiotics in my life from medical suggestions (didn’t know better), 3 of those completely unnecessary. I also got major dysbiosis from an intestinal infection recently (and as a child too but I didn’t have noticeable effects and no chronic illness). I now have some chronic symptoms, pertaining brain and joints inflammation, alongside digestive (can see my case in profile).
I know I can improve my diet and do interventions, including FMT, to alleviate my dysbiosis, but I am scared that it will haunt my child by destroying his health. If only I had been able to prevent my dysbiosis…
I wanted children before because I identified as healthy and knew I wouldn’t pass on serious health conditions to my offspring, but I no longer want to. Yet, I love my partner and she wants to have offspring and I don’t want to deny her that.
What can I do to prevent my child from inheriting a further dysbiotic gut, in the case I don’t get FMT? At least from my side? I know he/she won’t have te health of a good donor but at least to spare him/her from chronic illness.
